How to download Instagram videos and reels

Use a public link. Private accounts and posts that Instagram only shows after login cannot be saved here.

Copy the link

Open the video on Instagram and copy the post, reel, or IGTV address. It should look like instagram.com/p/…, instagram.com/reel/…, or instagram.com/tv/…. Short instagr.am links of those same kinds work too.

Search on the home page

Paste the address into the search box on the Download InstaVideos home page and press Search. The site fetches the public page and shows a preview when a thumbnail or video file is available.

Choose a size

Download HD for the largest file. If Instagram publishes more than one size, each extra size has its own button, often labeled SD or by width and height. The button saves that exact file.

From the command line

On a computer with PHP, php index.php "URL" saves the HD file. Add list to print sizes, or a size such as sd to save that one.

Only download content you have the right to save.
